Sergio Llull, G, 6-3, Spain (second round) -- The Nuggets traded his rights to Houston for cash. After acquiring first-round selection Ty Lawson from Minnesota on draft night, the Nuggets felt they didn't need another rookie.

FREE AGENT FOCUS: The Nuggets go into the offseason with six free agents. Center Chris Andersen and guards Dahntay Jones, Anthony Carter and Jason Hart are unrestricted, and forward Linas Kleiza and center Johan Petro are restricted. The two important ones are Andersen and Kleiza, who both say they want to return. Andersen is likely to get a hefty raise from his $998,398 minimum deal.

"Re-sign me," Andersen said when asked what the team's top offseason priority should be. Kleiza's situation is up in the air since he might want more than the Nuggets are willing to pay. Jones, Carter and Petro could return on minimum deals, although the Nuggets likely will have no interest in offering Hart any guaranteed money.

--F Carmelo Anthony vows to take it easier this summer than he did last. This marks the first summer since 2005 Anthony hasn't played with USA Basketball. He played in the World Championships in 2006, in an Olympic qualifying tournament in 2007 and in the Olympics last summer, bringing home a gold medal. It's only the second summer for Anthony without any competitive basketball since being drafted in 2003. He played in the summer leagues in 2003 and in the Olympics in 2004.

--G Ty Lawson, acquired by the Nuggets in a draft-night trade after Minnesota took him with the No. 18 pick, is expected to headline Denver's entry in the 21-team NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. It should be a good early chance for Lawson to show the Nuggets he could be a productive backup as a rookie. The Nuggets will play five games in Las Vegas, starting July 14 and concluding July 19.

--G Chauncey Billups is being earmarked for fewer minutes next season. Billups, who turns 33 in September, averaged 35.3 minutes last season, the fifth time in the past six seasons he has averaged 35 or more.

"I think it's wise to keep him under 35, maybe even closer to 30," Nuggets coach George Karl said of the regular season. "In the playoffs (last season), I think we might have wore him out a little bit, but everybody does that. All teams wear out their good players in the playoffs."

MEDICAL WATCH:

--C Nene suffered a broken forearm in the Nuggets' playoff finale May 29 against the Los Angeles Lakers. But he's expected to be ready for training camp.
