ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Chauncey Billups, Shooting guard Arron Afflalo, Small forward Carmelo Anthony, Power forward Kenyon Martin, Center Nene. Bench -- Center Chris Andersen, Guard J.R. Smith, Guard Ty Lawson, Forward Joey Graham. PLAYER NOTES: --F Carmelo Anthony, after having his streak of 20 straight games with 20 or more points broken Monday at Philadelphia, bounced back with 34 points Tuesday at Charlotte. Until managing just 14 against the 76ers, Anthony was the NBA's last player to have scored 20 or more points in every game this season. But Anthony did look a bit tired toward the end of Tuesday's 107-95 loss, one reason he finished with six turnovers and five fouls.
--F Joey Graham got his second start of the season Tuesday at Charlotte due to Kenyon Martin being out with a finger injury. Graham made the most of it, totaling eight points and four rebounds in 20 minutes. But Graham's twin brother and Charlotte forward Stephen got bragging rights. Even though Stephen was less productive with four points and three rebounds in 10 minutes, his team won 107-95.
--G Chauncey Billups, at 33, isn't as good on the second game of back-to-back situations as he once was. It showed in Tuesday's 107-95 loss at Charlotte. After scoring 31 points and handing out eight assists in 42 minutes Monday at Philadelphia, Billups was held to 14 points and just one assist Tuesday. He had five turnovers.
MEDICAL WATCH:
--F Malik Allen didn't accompany the team to Charlotte for Tuesday's game due to illness, remaining in Philadelphia, where Denver played Monday. He is expected to rejoin the team for Thursday's game at Detroit.
--F Kenyon Martin suffered a dislocated left pinkie Monday at Philadelphia and was unable to play Tuesday at Charlotte even though he was in uniform. The Nuggets hope to have Martin back Thursday at Detroit.
