Denver Nuggets Roster Report 2009-10-29

Denver Nuggets Roster Report 2009-10-29ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Chauncey Billups, Shooting guard Anthony Carter, Small forward Carmelo Anthony, Power forward Kenyon Martin, Center Nene. Bench -- Center Chris Andersen, Guard Arron Afflalo, Guard Joey Graham, Forward Malik Allen, Guard Ty Lawson.

--F Carmelo Anthony, who says he's in the best shape of his career, could be looking good soon in a tuxedo. Anthony said his marriage to his longtime fiancee, MTV personality LaLa Vazquez, is "coming soon" and "could be" as soon as next summer. The two were engaged Dec. 25, 2004 and had a son together, with Kiyan born in March 2007.

--G Anthony Carter, normally a point guard, surprisingly got the start at shooting guard for the Nuggets in Wednesday's opener against Utah. Shooting guard J.R. Smith was unavailable while serving the first game of a seven-game suspension. Facing a key division rival, Karl did not feel confident starting Arron Afflalo or Joey Graham. Carter had two points in 17 minutes.

--C Nene is being looked at as a possible All-Star this season. He certainly looked that way out of the gates to start the season, scoring 11 points and blocking two shots in the first half of Wednesday's opener against Utah. But Nene slowed down in the second half, getting five points and no blocks after intermission.
