--Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony is on a roll. Over the past four games, Anthony has averaged 33 points. His latest big effort was 31 in Saturday's 129-116 win over Golden State.
"My shot is falling now, getting everybody better, running the court and trying to get some easy baskets," Anthony said. Coach George Karl said Anthony's play lately has been much needed.
"It seems like he's in the flow of it," Karl said. "With the injuries we've had, we needed an extra guy, an offensive horse."
The Nuggets also lost center Nene for two games earlier in the week due to a suspension. In those two games, Anthony averaged 36 points.
--For the past five games, it's been the greatest hits of Chris Andersen.
The Nuggets reserve center has averaged 11.2 points and 8.6 rebounds in that stretch. Andersen said it's just a matter of getting healthy.
"Because I'm starting to heal," said Andersen, who said it took him awhile to overcome Oklahoma City's Robert Swift landing March 11 on his foot, resulting in a strained right calf. "So I was limited. I wasn't able to get to the basket as much (or) jump as high. ... So now I'm trying to get back."
Andersen, who totaled 10 points and 11 rebounds in 20 minutes Saturday against Golden State, credited Denver's training staff for getting him back in good shape.
QUOTE TO NOTE: "That is the only thing that matters, that we got the win. Some games are going to start off like that." -- G Anthony Carter, whose Nuggets fell behind 21-7 Saturday before coming back to beat Golden State 129-116.
