The 76ers' season will start and end against the team that eliminated them last season - the Orlando Magic.
The Sixers , who finished 41-41 last season and were ousted by the Magic in the first round of the playoffs, travel to Orlando on Oct. 28 for the season opener. The Sixers' regular-season finale will also be at Orlando, on April 14. The home opener at the Wachovia Center will be Oct. 30 against the Milwaukee Bucks.
On Jan. 29, the NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers - and star guard Kobe Bryant - play their only game in Philadelphia. The Cleveland Cavaliers - and superstar LeBron James - visit the Wachovia Center on Dec. 16 and March 12.
As usual, the Sixers will make an extended holiday road trip, playing six games away from home from Dec. 22 to Jan. 3: at the Washington Wizards, Utah Jazz, Portland Trail Blazers, Sacramento Kings, Los Angeles Clippers, and Denver Nuggets.
Another extended stretch of road games occurs from Nov. 21 to Dec. 5, when the Sixers play seven of eight away from home but none farther west than Texas. This segment leads to a homestand that starts Dec. 7 vs. the Nuggets and continues for five games, concluding against the Cavaliers on Dec. 16.
Former Sixers point guard Andre Miller, who recently signed with Portland, will return to the Wachovia Center on Jan. 20.
From March 1 to 26, the Sixers have a stretch of 15 contests with no more than one day between games.
